Something About Forever

about

'Something About Forever' is the second of two tracks we recorded while recording 'Thoughts Of A Dying Man', but didn't make the final tracklist.

'Something About Forever' ponders the world we will one day leave behind for the generations to come. Although we planned to release this to "celebrate" two years of 'Thoughts Of A Dying Man', it couldn't have been more timely. With war this close to home, one can only question what the future holds. What we do know is that we need to start dismantling all those institutions, governments and businesses profiting from war and conflict. Because as long as those in charge benefit from (words of) war, they will continue sacrificing human lives. It is time to do better and hold those involved accountable. Not just for ourselves, but for all generations to come...

"Knowing my future children will be safe, that they will know peace."

lyrics

Let's go back to the beginning, to this place between awake and dreaming. Where nothing is impossible, nothing is an obstacle, where life is simply beautiful. Where hope is something more than a phrase, empty clichés, more than what you beg for in your hollow prayers. And as the future is taking shape we need this hope, to guide us the way. Instead of reasoning about possible outcomes. Predictions once made are now useless, forgotten. They have been leading us on for so long, but I will be fighting until I am gone. Because the footprint that one day I will leave, must leave behind something positive. So I keep on chasing these dreams and must hold on to the things in which I believe. Because I must believe. What will I leave for my children? What kind of world do I want them to live in? What do I take? What am I giving? Why the fuck isn’t anyone listening? Are you listening? Are you listening to what they are telling you, questioning what they are selling you? Why the fuck do you think I am yelling at you? I see you take for granted, draining our entire planet. Our way of life will be the death of us. Ask yourself what you want to leave? Because I see no future in this. The future is not ours to keep. It belongs to our kids and their kids. Been standing by, ignorant. Have we done a thing to make a difference? This is about forever. Today defines the future. What are we waiting for? One day, somewhere, I want to realize that I left this world a better place. Knowing my future children will be safe, that they will know peace. That they will know only peace. What a world. Is this really what we are going to leave for our kids, our grandkids? What a world. We have spent a lifetime on worthless meaningless bullshit. What a world. We are still taking things for granted. What a world. Instead of seeing the beauty of all this. What a world, what a beautiful world this could be. What a world. A beautiful world I will leave. I promise you that no matter what, I will take care of this with all of my heart. This is all we have and probably all we get. This is about forever. This day defines the future. And if this is all we will get here, there must be something about forever.
